In de zomer van 2018 verhuizen de opleidingen van het domein Economie & Management, de instituten voor Communicatie en Media en het Institute for ICT naar de nieuwbouw aan Heidelberglaan 15 (HL15). Wat willen de studenten van deze opleidingen weten over de verhuizing naar hun nieuwe gebouw? En via welke middelen worden ze het liefst geïnformeerd? We vroegen het studenten van de studieverenigingen die in de nieuwbouw komen. Zij denken mee over de communicatie over de aanstaande verhuizing en namen onlangs alvast een kijkje in het gebouw.
Niels van Harten (voorzitter) en Stijn van den Akker (commissaris Externe Betrekkingen) van studievereniging Forum (economische instituten) vertellen enthousiast: “Nu de verhuizing eindelijk in zicht is, zijn wij zeer blij dat wij als studievereniging worden betrokken bij de communicatie rondom de nieuwbouw en de verhuizing. We hebben inmiddels zelf met eigen ogen gezien hoe mooi de nieuwbouw gaat worden en kunnen nu al onze leden en studenten net zo enthousiast maken!”
Brainstormen en bezoek aan HL15
Samen met de andere studieverenigingen die het nieuwe gebouw gaan betrekken is S.v. Forum bij een aantal brainstormsessies geweest over de communicatie rondom de verhuizing. Van Harten: “Zo is er gesproken over een welkomstborrel/ koffiemoment, een snapchatfilter op de eerste collegedag, hulpstudenten die je de route wijzen etc. Het hoogtepunt van alle brainstormsessies was toch wel de rondleiding door het nieuwe pand. Tijdens de rondleiding hebben we de ruime lokalen, het food court, de grote collegezalen, maar ook mogelijke bestuurskamers alvast kunnen bekijken. Het was goed om te zien hoe het gebouw eindelijk zijn vorm begint te krijgen en waar we straks zullen gaan studeren.”
Ook de plek waar het nieuwe science café komt riep enthousiaste reacties op bij de studenten. Het uitgangspunt is dat dit science café, net als Het7de (op HL7) en Het Proeflokaal (op PL99), ook gerund gaat worden door studenten van de studieverenigingen die er gehuisvest worden. Van Harten en Van den Akker zien het helemaal zitten: “Het voelde voor ons alvast goed om daar het eerste denkbeeldige drankje te kunnen tappen. We kunnen niet wachten tot de verhuizing en hebben er nu al onwijs veel zin in!”

Students brainstorm about communication new building
In the summer of 2018, the programmes in the domain Economics & Management, the institutes for Communication and Media and the Institute for ICT will be moving to the new building at Heidelberglaan 15 (HL15). What do the students of these programmes know about the relocation to their new building? And how would they like to be informed? We asked members of the student associations who will be moving into the new building. They recently joined in a brainstorming session about the communication relating to the pending move and visited the building.
Niels van Harten (president) and Stijn van den Akker (commissioner External Relations) from student association Forum (economic institutes) were enthusiastic: “Now that the move is finally in sight, we are thrilled as a student association to be involved in the communications relating to the new building and the move. We’ve now seen with our own eyes how awesome the new building is going to be and can now make all our members and students equally enthusiastic!”
Brainstorming and visit to HL15
Together with the other student associations who will be moving to the new building, S.v. Forum attended a number of brainstorming sessions about communication relating to the move. Van Harten: “We talked about a welcome reception/coffee moment, a snapchat filter on the first day of lectures, students who help direct you to where you need to be, etc. The highlight of all the brainstorming sessions, however, was the tour of the new building. During the tour, we were able to take a look in the spacious classrooms, the food court, the big lecture halls as well as possible boardrooms. It was good to see how the building is finally starting to take shape and where we’ll be studying.”
The site of the new science café also received enthusiastic responses from the students. The plan is that this science café, like Het7de (at HL7) and Het Proeflokaal (at PL99), will also be run by students from the student associations which will be accommodated there. Van Harten and Van den Akker are very positive about it: “It felt good to be able to pull the first imaginary drink. We can’t wait for the move and are really looking forward to it!”
