Beste studenten,
We zijn de afgelopen dagen hard aan het werk geweest om de gevolgen van de kabinetsmaatregelen ter bestrijding van de verspreiding van het coronavirus voor jullie als studenten in kaart te brengen. We begrijpen dat jullie veel vragen hebben over je studie, de ingeroosterde onderwijsactiviteiten, toetsen en de beschikbaarheid van faciliteiten.
Met dit bericht willen we jullie zo goed mogelijk informeren wat de kabinetsmaatregelen voor jullie betekent in de komende periode tot en met 31 maart 2020. Lees dit bericht zorgvuldig, er is veel informatie in verwerkt die van belang is.
Het belangrijkste is dat wij de gezondheid en veiligheid van studenten, docenten en medewerkers voorop stellen. Dat betekent dat we ervan uitgaan dat iedereen zich houdt aan de richtlijnen van het kabinet en het RIVM: blijf thuis bij klachten als neusverkoudheid, hoesten, keelpijn of koorts. Mijd sociaal contact. Bel pas met de huisarts als klachten verergeren.
Ook geven we gehoor aan de oproep van het kabinet om het onderwijs op afstand te organiseren. Daarbij staat de student centraal, moeten oplossingen te organiseren zijn, geldt het gelijkheidsbeginsel en moeten de eindcompetenties geborgd blijven.
Wij spannen ons maximaal in zodat jullie zo min mogelijk hinder ondervinden van de kabinetsmaatregelen voor je studie. We willen het afstandsonderwijs en alternatieve werkvormen zo snel mogelijk starten. Uiterlijk woensdag 18 maart – of eerder – laat je opleiding weten hoe dit er voor jou uit gaat zien. Totdat je bericht hebt gekregen van je opleiding is al jouw onderwijs, inclusief toetsen, afgelast. Je kunt je zelf thuis ook voorbereiden door de informatie over MS Teams te raadplegen (HU inlog nodig).
Welke activiteiten gaan tot en met 31 maart 2020 niet door?
- Alle georganiseerde activiteiten waarbij sprake is van een fysieke ontmoeting tussen docent(en)en student(en)op locaties van hogescholen, universiteiten en UMC’s. We vatten hieronder ook alle activiteiten die in verschillende fasen van de onderwijsketen plaatsvinden van instroom tot en met alumni-activiteiten.
- Diploma’s uitreiken of ophalen bij STIP.
- Evenementen in HU gebouwen, ook van of met derden.
- Matchingsactiviteiten.
- Meeloopdagen.
- Contractonderwijs.
- Onbekostigd onderwijs.
- Post-initieel onderwijs.
- Stagebezoeken door docenten.
- Activiteiten van studieverenigingen bij de HU.
- Activiteiten van studentenverenigingen bij de HU.
- Voorgenomen studiereizen en exchange naar het buitenland.
Welke activiteiten gaan tot en met 31 maart 2020 wel door?
- Online dienstverlening, inclusief de online diensten van de HU Bibliotheek.
- Het afstandsonderwijs en alternatieve werkvormen.
- Thuisstudie kan altijd doorgaan.
- Leerteams kunnen eventueel met gebruik van MS Teams online samenwerken.
- Stagelopen: studenten volgen daarbij de richtlijnen van kabinet/sector/stage-organisatie.
Toetsen
Voor alle toetsen in de periode tot en met 31 maart 2020 wordt een oplossing gezocht. Je opleiding zal
je hierover informeren.

Wat betekent dit voor de aanwezigheidsplicht voor jullie als studenten?
Jullie worden door de opleiding geïnformeerd over de consequenties voor het niet kunnen voldoen
aan de aanwezigheidsplicht.
Gevolgen kabinetsmaatregelen voor studieverloop
We hebben gemerkt dat er zorgen leven over het studieverloop. We delen jullie zorgen. Op dit moment wordt nog specifiek gesproken over thema’s als studievertraging, het BSA en aanmelding- en inschrijving in het overleg tussen Vereniging Hogescholen, Vereniging Samenwerkende Nederlandse Universiteiten (VSNU) en het ministerie van OCW. We verwachten dat we daar in de komende week meer over kunnen zeggen.
Tot slot
We kunnen ons voorstellen dat er aanvullende vragen leven over de kabinetsmaatregelen en bovenstaande informatie en met name de organisatie van het afstandsonderwijs en alternatieve werkvormen.
Op dit moment wordt gewerkt aan instructies, handleidingen en support voor studenten en docenten. Via myHU, e-mail en jullie opleiding worden jullie daarover zo snel mogelijk geïnformeerd.
We begrijpen dat we nu veel van jullie gaan vergen. Samen doen we er alles aan om jullie zo goed mogelijk te informeren. We merken dat jullie zeer betrokken zijn door alle vragen, opmerkingen en suggesties die we ontvangen en dat is voor ons allemaal een goed teken: samen willen en kunnen we deze komende periode overbruggen en de voortgang van jullie studie zo min mogelijk laten belemmeren.

Dear students,
We have been working hard over the past few days to make an overview of the effects of the cabinet measures, to deal with the spread of the Corona-virus, for you as students. We understand that you have many questions about your studies, the scheduled educational activities, tests and the availability of facilities.
With this message we want to inform you as well as possible what the cabinet measure means for you in the coming period until March 31, 2020. Read this message carefully, it contains a lot of important information.
Most importantly we put the health and safety of students, teachers and employees first. This means that we assume that everyone follows to the guidelines of the cabinet and RIVM: stay at home with complaints such as cold, cough, sore throat or fever. Avoid social contact. Call the doctor only if complaints worsen.
We are also responding to the government’s call to organize remote education. The student is the most important, solutions must be organized, the principle of equality applies and the final competences must be guaranteed.
We make every effort to ensure you experience as little inconvenience as possible from the cabinet measures for your studies. We want to start remote learning and alternative working methods as soon as possible. By Wednesday March 18 – or earlier – your study program will let you know what this will look like for you. Until you have been notified by your study program, all your education, including tests, have been canceled. You can also prepare yourself at home by consulting the information about MS Teams (HU login required).
Which activities will not continue until March 31, 2020?
All organized activities involving a physical meeting between teacher (s) and student (s) at locations of colleges, universities and UMCs. We also include all activities that take place in different phases of the education chain, from intake to alumni activities.
- Issue or collect diplomas at STIP.
- Events in HU buildings, also from or with third parties.
- Matching activities.
- Orientatiom days.
- Contract education.
- Non-subsidized education.
- Post-initial education.
- Internship visits by teachers.
- Activities of study associations at the HU.
- Activities of student associations at the HU.
- Intended study trips and exchange abroad.
Which activities will continue until March 31, 2020?
- Online services, including the online services of the HU Library.
- Remote learning and alternative working method.
- Home study can always continue.
- Learning teams can possibly collaborate online using MS Teams.
- Internship: students follow the guidelines of the cabinet / sector / internship organization.
Tests
A solution is being sought for all tests up to and including 31 March 2020. Your study program will inform
you about this.

What does this mean for the attendance requirement for you as students?
You will be informed by the study program about the consequences of not being able to meet the
attendance requirement.
Consequences of government measures for study progress
We have noticed that there are concerns about the course of the study. We share your concerns. At this
moment, specific topics are discussed such as study delay, the BSA and registration and enrollment in
the consultations between the Association of Universities of Applied Sciences, the Association of
Cooperating Dutch Universities (VSNU) and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science. We expect
to be able to say more about that in the coming week.
Finally
We can imagine that there are additional questions about the government’s measures and the above information and in particular the organization of remote learning and alternative working methods. We are currently working on instructions, manuals and support for students and teachers. You will be informed of this as soon as possible via myHU, e-mail and your study program.
We understand that we ask a lot of you now. Together we do everything we can to inform you as well as possible. We notice that you are very involved with all the questions, comments and suggestions we receive and that is a good sign for all of us: together we can and will bridge this coming period and let the progress of your studies be hindered as little as possible.
