Eind februari werd een probleem geconstateerd in de afwerking van een deel van de vloeren in het nieuwe gebouw Heidelberglaan 15. Het gaat nadrukkelijk niet om constructiefouten, maar om een later aangebrachte afwerklaag. Deze laag is op meerdere verdiepingen niet overal goed gehecht op het beton. Er is in de afgelopen weken hard gewerkt om de vloeren te herstellen.

Onlangs bleek dat het probleem zich op meer verdiepingen voordoet. Om de kwaliteit te waarborgen worden nu ook deze verdiepingen aangepakt. De andere werkzaamheden gaan gewoon door. We gnieuwbouaan er nog steeds van uit dat het gebouw conform planning in gebruik kan worden genomen (13 augustus medewerkers en 3 september onderwijs). Voor het geval dat oplevering en gebruik vertraagd mocht worden door onvoorziene omstandigheden in de komende periode, worden fall back maatregelen getroffen om de continuïteit van het onderwijs te garanderen.

Problems with floor finishing on several floors of new building to be resolved

At the end of February, we detected a problem in the finishing of some of the floors in the new building at Heidelberglaan 15. We emphasise that this doesn’t concern structural defects but a finishing top coat that was applied later. This layer has not properly bonded to the concrete in some areas on several floors. During the past few weeks, we have worked hard to repair the floors.

We recently discovered that the issue occurs on several floors. To safeguard the quality, these floors will be dealt with as well. Other work will continue as normal. We still assume that the building can be taken into use according to plan (13 August for members of staff and 03 September for educational purposes). If completion and use are delayed due to unforeseen circumstances in the next few months, we will take fall-back measures so as to guarantee the continuity of education.
