Probleem met afwerking vloeren nieuwbouwpand Heidelberglaan 15

Onlangs is er een probleem geconstateerd in de afwerking van vloeren in het nieuwe gebouw Heidelberglaan 15. Het gaat niet om constructiefouten maar om een later aangebrachte afwerkingslaag. Deze laag is op meerdere verdiepingen niet overal goed gehecht op het beton. Op dit moment bekijken specialisten waar het probleem zich voordoet en welke oplossingen er mogelijk zijn. Het is onduidelijk of de oplevering van het gebouw hierdoor vertraagt.

Mocht dit probleem toch gaan leiden tot vertraging, dan heeft de HU ruimte voor tijdelijke oplossingen. Hiervoor is voldoende capaciteit op de campus beschikbaar in de gebouwen op het Daltonpark. Het huisvestingsbeleid wordt niet aangepast of opgeschort. Mocht Heidelberglaan 15 conform planning worden opgeleverd en in gebruik worden genomen, dan heeft de HU een beperkte periode overcapaciteit op het Daltonpark.

Pas als er duidelijkheid komt over de mogelijke oplossingen voor het herstellen van de afwerklaag, is er meer zicht op eventuele gevolgen voor de huisvesting van instituten in het nieuwe pand. De HU laat overigens ook onderzoeken hoe de financiële schade die dit probleem kan veroorzaken is te verhalen. Deze onderzoeken zullen enkele weken in beslag nemen. Ondertussen gaan de bouwwerkzaamheden gewoon door.

Problem with the finishing of the floors in the new building on Heidelberglaan 15

Recently, a problem was detected in the finishing of the floors in the new building on Heidelberglaan 15. It is not a construction fault, but an issue with a finishing layer that was applied after construction. This layer has not properly bonded to the concrete in some areas on several floors. At the moment, specialists are making an assessment of the situation and are looking into possible solutions. It is unclear whether the completion of the building will be delayed as a result of this.

If it does indeed lead to any delays, the HU has enough resources to arrange for temporary solutions. There is sufficient available capacity on campus in the buildings of the Daltonpark location. The relocation policy will not need to be adjusted or suspended. If Heidelberglaan 15 is completed and commissioned in keeping with the original schedule, then the HU will temporarily have overcapacity at the Daltonpark.

Once there is enough clarity about the possible solutions for restoring the finishing layer, then we will have insight into possible consequences for the housing of institutions in the new building. Incidentally, the HU is also investigating the possibility for recovery of financial damages associated with this problem. This investigation will take a few weeks. Construction work will continue in the meantime.
