Na Het7e op Heidelberglaan 7 en Het Proeflokaal op Padualaan 99 opent in september 2018 een derde science café in de nieuwbouw op Heidelberglaan 15: science café HideOut. Zoals de naam suggereert is het een schuilplaats om je even terug te trekken en te ontsnappen aan de drukte in een gezellig, vintage sfeertje met een kopje koffie of een biertje erbij. De studieverenigingen hadden in een brainstormsessie meerdere opties voor namen van het café bedacht. Om een keuze te kunnen maken hebben ze deze voorgelegd aan de studenten op Facebook in een poll en hieruit kwam HideOut als winnaar.
Net als de andere science cafés zal ook café HideOut gerund worden door studenten van de HU. De studieverenigingen GetConnected, MAD, Escape, Forum, Indicium en LeF verwelkomen hier iedereen die zijn dorst wil lessen en wil socializen met studiegenoten, collega’s of vrienden. Maar ook gaan zij evenementen organiseren die boeiend en leuk zijn voor alle geïnteresseerden. Een heuse ontmoetingsplek voor zowel studenten, alumni, medewerkers van de HU, als voor externe partijen.
Hiermee richt HideOut zich op vier pijlers: educatie, ontspanning, ontmoeting en binding. Café HideOut moet de plek worden waar studenten en medewerkers zich thuis voelen. Om dit te realiseren kunnen de studieverenigingen de hulp van andere studenten goed gebruiken en zijn ze nog op zoek naar vrijwilligers. Ze zoeken studenten die een paar uurtjes in een week over hebben en willen werken in een sfeervolle omgeving waar ze kunnen socializen en tegelijkertijd vrijwilligerswerk aan hun CV toevoegen? Café HideOut – the new science café at Heidelberglaan 15
After Het7e at Heidelberglaan 7 and Het Proeflokaal at Padualaan 99, we’ll be opening a third science café in the new building at Heidelberglaan 15 in September 2018: science café HideOut. As the name suggests, it is a hideout that offers a comfortable, vintage atmosphere where you can relax and escape from the hustle and bustle of life over a cup of coffee or a beer. The study associations organised a brainstorm session to come up with a good name for a café in this atmosphere. After this session they presented the names in a poll on Facebook so the students could decide what the name of the café will be and so it became HideOut.
Like the other science cafés, café HideOut will be run by students of the HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht. The study associations GetConnected, MAD, Escape, Forum, Indicium and LeF will be welcoming anyone who wants to quench his or her thirst and who wants to socialise with fellow students, colleagues or friends. We will also be organising exciting and fun events for anyone who is interested. A real meeting place for students, alumni and staff of HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht, as well as external parties.
As such, HideOut focuses on four pillars: education, relaxation, meeting up and bonding. HideOut should become a place where students and members of staff feel at home. In order to be able to realise this, study associations could use the help of other students and they are still looking for volunteers.
